A founding member and music creator for the independent electronic group sequence theory project – having released two digital albums (“Τoyland”, 2010 and “The collapse of civilization”, 2012), as well as with numerous concerts and live appearances in various artistic performances, Melentini completed her debut album entitled “Explosions around, the desert inside”, which is released in February on Restless Wind. After creating a series of music pieces and appearing in theatrical plays, collaborating with prominent artists, MELENTINI sets a collection of her poems to music, in a record with intense theatricality. Her musical form is based on a wider sonic spectrum, with references to vintage pop, dark cabaret, Icelandic post rock, folk Irish songs and Balkan lullabies. The characteristics that govern all the tracks of this record are minimal structure and slow tempo, both of which have as a purpose to project a dark and aching landscape to the listener.
